Initial Article Planning

My production piece will consist of the front page of The Sun and a double page spread on the article dominating the front page. Below is my initial planning and ideas for the double page spread; features and conventions that need to be produced are:

- The Sun logo; in these double page articles there is a definitive Sun logo position by the page numbers and running across the header of both pages.
- A large image which overshadows most of the page - the image which I use will have a clear paparrazzi feel and must seem natural/sneaky.
- Text, organised into neat collumns relating to the article and further dramatising and exaggerating the scandal.
- Smaller images embedded into this text; for added interest and further develop the story.
- Sub heading to organise the text for skim readers and an eye cathcing yet shocking sub line to give the audience a snippet of what the piece will be about.
- Factual information/summaries/quotes embodied in the text to break up the bulk of writing and to furtehr add interest and the option of a lighter read.

IMAGES
The images used in The Sun enable readers to grasp the concept of the article before any text is even read. As my critical investigation relates to the drug abuse of female celebrities and how this is manipulated and targeted by the media I intend to have a model styled in the back of a car 'caught out' being intoxicated. Furthermore, I will embed images of the model dressed up at red carpet events to show the contrast and how her life has spun out of control - this will add further impact and drama to the focal image.

These images reflect the route in which I wish to follow; by staging a picture in these sort of situations it will capture the whole 'kiss and tell' idea which I wish to illustrate through the article. By using a model and placing her in real-life situations; seemingly unposed for, I will be able to construct a tabloid article in the style of The Sun effectively and precisely.
