- Brief sub-paragraph (typically in bold font) to highlight the article and outline the context and background of the scandal.
- Key events and factual information/statistics on the 'celebrity' and the impact this scandal will have on their career.
- Exaggerated details of the event/circumstances.
- Quotes from 'sources' close to the star.
The situation I intend to create involves a female 'celebrity' caught out in a drugs scandal. I intend to build this character up, creating her own personna, history and personal relationships to make the article as realistic and relevant as possible. She will be propelled into fame through her Father's extensive contacts and business empire and her status as a 'party girl' will have been previously extensively covered by the papers before climaxing in a drugs scandal. I intend for the piece to be highly dramatised and extensive in dramatic and shocking details. As a tabloid newspaper The Sun is incredibly focused on dramas and celebrity scandals; therefore, the story reported needs to be materialistic and unsubstantial in terms of world events and the actual impact of the article has to irrelevant to the target audience. The main purpose of the piece is to shock audiences, add entertainment and highlight their 'off rails' approach to life and the destructive effect it has had on them physically, mentally and the negative media attention gained by their fans.
